Doug Anderson's
Article Collector
So you've built a web site and have signed up with several
web sites that are sending you articles that you could
post on your site if you had the time, but you haven't got the
time ... and now you've got over 100 articles waiting for you
to do something with them. But how do you get them out
of your e-mail program and into your web site? Copy and
paste each one? Too much work!
This program is a pre-processor for your e-mail. It collects
your POP3 e-mail and analyses it. It looks for spam, and it looks
for articles you want to save. You can dynamically add more spam
keywords, or add the addresses of known friends, and define keyword
filters to allow the program to capture the incoming article
and store it on your hard disk, in text or HTML format, ready
for you to insert into your web site.
After the program has processed your e-mail, then it invokes
your normal e-mail client (Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express,
whatever) and it can process what's left.
You can sign up with various article senders, such as Unique
Article Wizard, and they will send you several or many articles
a day on the subjects you choose. Normally, you would tell them
to send the articles to your blog, where the article will either
be posted or placed in a queue, or to your regular e-mail address
where the article appears in your InBox. It's difficult to get
the article out of your InBox and into your web site.
If you send an article directly to a blog, the only way to
make money from it is through AdSense and Kontera, both of which
pay almost nothing per click. It would be far better to capture
that article, route it to 3-Click Article Poster, and monetize
it with affiliate links, whch can pay up to 1000 times more than
Ad Cents. You can potentially make US$20 or more per sale, instead
of 3 cents per click.
Here is the start-up screen; I have blacked out my mail server
info.
After the program to signs onto your mail server, it starts
downloading and analyzing your mail.
Here, it has read and downloaded 37 messages. You can see
that it has already decided that some messages are spam, some
were articles and have now been saved on the hard drive, and
some it can't tell (CHOOSE). You can double-click a line and
a preview window will open allowing you to view the entire e-mail
and see if any links (URLs) are embedded in the message.
There are buttons here to allow you to select text addresses
and save those in the spam or friends lists.
How are articles saved on your hard drive or re-routed? Here
is my routing definition for articles about radio-controlled
cars coming from Unique Articles.
You can see that you can select by category, keywords, subject,
and body text, and then route the article to your blog, and/or
forward it to another e-mail address, and optionally save the
article on your hard drive.
This program also interfaces with 3-Click Article Poster to
monetize the article before posting it to a blog.
This program is still in development but is very close to
completion.
